The flatpickers out there won’t want to miss the masters
workshop with Dan Crary. Dan is one of the most influential guitar
players of the last century, and a heck of a nice guy to boot.
A Dan Crary workshop is a unique combination of inspiration,
entertainment, education, and down-to-earth useful ideas to advance
your playing.
Dan’s
own guess is that he has conducted something like a thousand workshops
in 30 countries since the 1960’s.
The payoff of this is that he has listened and paid attention
to what flatpickers and other guitarists need to get going, get
un-stuck, make regular progress, and start feeling like a real
player, instead of a struggler. At the end of a Dan Crary workshop,
you’ll feel revved up and encouraged, full of ideas about
how to improve your playing, make practice actually work, get
off the plateau, learn traditional tunes better and faster than
ever before, clean up and power-up your rhythm playing, and create
your own arrangements and styles.
Dan welcomes any player from a
few weeks’ experience or
a few years…he’ll answer your questions, help you
solve problems, and get you going toward the player you want
to be. Many past workshop presenters and attendees have told
Dan it was the best workshop they ever witnessed or attended.
Maybe you’ll have that same experience.
I am pleased to report
that Chick Rose will be conducting his Kids Academy. Chick has
nurtured some of the finest young talent to come out of the Pacific
Northwest over the last 25 years or so. If you have a child who
has any interest at all in this music, I would highly
encourage
them to participate.
John Reischman and band also will be conducting
some great workshops. John is, in my book, one of the great mandolin
players of all time. His continuing growth as a musical force is
helping to keep this great music alive and thriving.
Paul Schoenlaub,
formerly of Out Of The Blue, has assembled a handful of the Northwest’s
best songwriters who will offer a comprehensive song-writing workshop.
